If there are two indisputable truths in life, they are that a man is not a camel and a Corvette is not a boat. The gentleman above needs to retrieve the C4 Corvette in the shed behind him. The problem is the pool of water between the Corvette and solid ground. His solution is as comical as it is regrettable… and expensive. Checkout the ABT Audi R8 GTR video, the modified 5.2 FSI V10 R8 was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Auto Salon. Limited to 25 iterations the ABT R8 GTR has 620bhp which delivers a 0-100km/h time of 3.2 seconds! and a 200km/h time of 9.9 seconds. Top speed is 325km/h (202mph). I can’t think of a better way to kick the February winter blues than to hop on a plane this afternoon and head down to Miami for the weekend to take part and cover the 2010 Supercar Experience (SCX)! We were present last year and you can checkout our Supercar Weekend 2009 Review as well as all the photos 2009 Supercar Weekend Pictures to get an idea of what this event is all about. Today kicks off the 2010 Canadian International Autoshow at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. I was lucky enough to have 2 Montreal friends; Josh McRae and Stephan Bauer come chill and play with our cameras for a couple days. This years show was a little smaller than last years due to no car displays being displayed in the Rogers Center, however I was very satisfied with the show mainly due to the Carroll Shelby Display, the Audi R8 Spyder, Ferrari 599xx, Black McLaren SLR 722S, Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT that I had previously spotted (and haven’t seen since) in Toronto back in April 2008. A Red Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing and Silver Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing, HTT Plethore and PFAFF Tuning added some new excitement to the show!

Thanks to Stephan Bauer for the tip on this post! Looks like someone over in Europe has taken their recently acquire Ferrari 458 Italia and vinyl wrapped it with a Siberian Desert camouflage design! Pretty wild, I think it would look pretty sweet up close even it is just a vinyl wrap.

Contrary to Michael Macht (Porsche CEO) recent statement that Porsche technology will continue to be centered around improving efficiency and not creating hybrids “We want brake regeneration and stop-start for our sports cars, but not hybrid,” explains Macht, here is the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid which will be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
This new Porsche Hybrid will be based on the RWD Porsche 911 GT3 R that will take delivery to track privateers later this year. In addition to the 480hp 4.0L Flat Six it will have 2 electric motors that drive the front wheels.
Where the passenger seat would normally go, is a flywheel and energy storage unit (see photo above) that will convert and store kinetic braking energy until needed. The stored kinetic energy equates to 120kW which means 160hp to the front wheels available in 6-8 seconds bursts controlled by a button on the steering wheel.
Further to Michael Macht recent comments regarding P Cars, “They’re not driven in the city”, I fully disagree with that statement because here in Toronto and Montreal Canada Porsche 911’s are extremely common daily driver city cars.
